Red Lead – Pb3O4
With an installed capacity of 1800 MTPA, our Red Lead is manufactured using a fully automated process to maintain consistent quality and purity. It is widely used in battery production and other applications requiring high-grade lead oxides.
Each product undergoes stringent quality control and testing to meet industry standards. We use advanced equipment such as Optical Emission Spectrophotometers and Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers to ensure the highest levels of purity and performance.
The furnace is a refractory lined batch oven. Using four large rotating agitator arms, the feed material is constantly mixed to ensure consistency in the percentage of Red Lead throughout the batch. Batch temperature is controlled by diesel heating which results in cleaner process and efficient utilization of fuel. The oxygen content of the air inside the furnace is monitored with oxygen automatically added to maintain the desired level for a proper reaction.
The furnace uses an oxygen rich atmosphere to convert Lead Oxide (PbO) to compounds that contain 80% to 97% Red Lead (Pb3O4).
Produced through a fully automated process, our Red Lead ensures consistent particle size, purity, and stability, meeting global industry standards. With rigorous quality control measures and advanced testing equipment, we guarantee optimum chemical composition and performance. Whether for battery manufacturing, protective coatings, or specialized industrial applications, our Red Lead delivers unmatched quality, efficiency, and long-term dependability.
Applications
Red lead (chemical formula: Pb₃O₄, also known as minium) is a bright red or orange-red powder made by oxidizing lead monoxide. It has several specialized industrial applications due to its corrosion resistance, chemical stability, and pigment properties. Here are some common applications of red lead
-
Anti-Corrosive Paints and Primers
Used on iron and steel structures to prevent rust and corrosion. -
Battery Manufacturing (Lead-Acid Batteries)
Enhances conductivity and plate formation in industrial battery electrodes. -
Glass and Ceramics
Added to glass for coloration, density, and X-ray shielding properties. -
Rust-Resistant Coatings for Marine Equipment
Applied on ships, docks, pipelines to resist saltwater corrosion. -
Lubricants in Industrial Machining
Used in high-temperature lubricants and greases for heavy-duty machinery. -
Protective Coating for Submarines and Bridges
Strong primer base layer against moisture and environmental degradation. -
Pigment in Paints
Historically used in paints for vibrant, durable reddish-orange color.
